Technology and IT Marketing

Last week in Barcelona Peter Sondergaard, Vice-President and Global Research Director for Gartner,  indicated that “In 2012, we estimate that IT spending will decline 3.6 percent in EMEA and 5.9 percent in Western Europe. However, the EMEA region will return to growth in 2013 and continue to grow through 2016 when spending will reach $ 1, 247 trillion.”

In order to take advantage of this forecasted growth on a national and international basis, many IT companies will have find answers to three technology marketing questions:

  1. Is your brand credible enough to compete with larger and better known rivals?
  2. Is your company well positioned to take early advantage of growth opportunities?
  3. Do you have marketing programs in place to generate leads and measure results?

Our experience in the development of marketing and communication strategies in the technology sector, has given us some insights and guidelines which we want to share as we believe they can help IT companies to grow:

  • Design a credible brand identity focussed on delivering desired outcomes for your clients
  • Plan and implement an effective thought leadership campaign – offering practical answers to  your clients´common problems
  • Develop a website that differentiates your company and engages your key audiences, including prospects, partners, clients and new hires.
  • Implements a content strategy that builds awareness, raises your profile and attracts potential customers including for example case studies, client testimonials, white papers about your thought leadership or research projects.
  • Stay in front of important audiences on and offline regularly with carefully designed (social) marketing activities.
